What will I learn?
Su France leads this hands-on workshop to create your own botanical handmade print. Using found objects from nature (such as plants, ferns, leaves and flowers) you will learn the technique of Gelli Plate printing with paints and inks. Please bring a selection of found objects to include in your artwork.
About Su France
Su is a multidisciplinary, botanical printmaker. Su grows many of the specimens she print with, at her rural Lincolnshire home where she responsibly forages in woodland. The re-wilded paddocks provide Su with the inspiration and diverse habitat for flora and fauna. She is inspired by nature’s cycles, ferns, pebbles, botanicals from first bud to decay’s beauty.
Su prints delicate wildflowers, weathered finds, depicting evocative barns illuminated, tales within and is drawn to kintsugi ceramics, mending cracks with gold, finding beauty in impermanence and capturing fleeting precious moments.
