Our Christmas Contemporary Makers Market is back and this year it’s bigger and all indoors!

For the first time ever, our 2024 Pop-Up Market will take place in the Hub’s Main Gallery, the largest space for showcasing craft and design in the UK. Our Studio and Workshop will host demonstrations, craft workshops & activities, making it a vibrant and festive experience for everyone visiting.

We’re inviting talented designers, makers and producers to apply to showcase and sell the very best contemporary craft, design, objects, homewares & artisan produce. Application is open until Sun 11 Aug 2024. Selected designers/makers will be announced Wed 21 Aug 2024.

Criteria

We are looking for designers and makers that create original and exciting work of a high quality. We also invite producers of artisan food and drink, plants and floristry and we’re particularly keen to hear from anyone that can demonstrate their craft. All applications will be judged and selected with consideration given to price, quality of making and standard of product. We regret we cannot provide feedback on unsuccessful applications.

Cost

The price of a stall is £95+VAT for one day or £180+VAT for the weekend. The price includes:

● a 6ft x 3ft table with white tablecloth

● two chairs per stall

● electricity provision, if required

● marketing via the Hub’s social media (20,400 followers), social media advertising and promotion via the Hub’s website, Atrium TV, newsletter and mailing list

● printed flyers for distribution to your own networks, contacts and buyers

● complimentary drinks and snacks during the day

Logistics

The Hub’s Contemporary Makers Market events attract over 5,000 visitors each year. Sunday 1 December also coincides with the town centre’s Christmas Market ensuring a lively well attended event.

The Makers Market will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on both days. Set up will begin at 8am and take down will be from 4-5pm. All event spaces are indoors and fully accessible with access to toilets, WIFI and electricity. Further logistical information will be provided to all exhibitors following selection.
