What will I learn?
Artist and weaver Sarah May Johnson will be demonstrating and teaching different weave structures and patterns, starting from paper and progressing to yarn using off-loom techniques. Create a beautiful woven piece that can be continued at home, and lay the foundations for more advanced weaving techniques.
About Sarah-May Johnson
Upon finishing her education, in 2010, Sarah May Johnson has gained professional experience in a number of different environments from universities to high end design studios. In early 2019, Sarah May Johnson began working as a professional artist and freelance designer and has worked on a variety of creative projects. Her work has been showcased in exhibitions such as the Open at Leicester’s New Walk Museum and Gallery. She is also in discussion with galleries planning her first solo exhibition. Johnson’s artistic expression has gone through many phases over the years, resulting in a highly personal approach and perspective, however a love of colour and fascination with process have remained consistent throughout.
Access Information - Workshop
When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.
The workshop is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below.
The workshop is temperature controlled and well lit.
You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.
You are welcome to take drinks or snacks into the workshop if required.
