Miniature Casebound Bookmaking with Daniel Rapley

Sun 20 Sept, 10:30am–4pm

Hub £55 18yrs+

What will I learn?

During this hands‑on session, you’ll explore the complete process of making a miniature hardback book. The workshop begins with creating your own pages using collage, drawing and acetone image‑transfer, giving you a set of expressive, personal surfaces to work with. From there, you’ll move into the craft of bookbinding –  assembling your pages into a text block, preparing a hardback cover with book cloth, and bringing the two together using a traditional casebound method. By the end, you’ll have followed the full sequence of steps used in professional bookmaking, gaining skills you can adapt for future projects.

What will I take away with me?

You’ll leave with a finished miniature hardback book containing your own artwork and handmade pages.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Everything you need will be provided.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes.
