What will I learn? 

Each session will be led by a different dance artist and will include a warm up, technique and dance choreography or creative tasks. 

29 Jul: Contemporary Dance with Emma 
12 Aug: Street Dance with Abbi
26 Aug: Choreography Creation with Rebecca 

Class information:

  • Contemporary Dance: Move, create and explore! In this class, dancers will develop their contemporary technique through warm-ups, floor work, travelling and creative tasks. Students will also explore improvisation and learn how to express ideas and emotions through movement, building confidence, versatility and performance skills.
  • Street Dance: Learn the foundations Hip Hop, Locking and House while developing style, musicality and confidence. Dancers will explore freestyle techniques, build their own movement vocabulary and learn exciting routines inspired by a range of street dance styles.
  • Choreography Workshop: Get creative and bring your ideas to life! Using music, images, stories and different themes as inspiration, dancers will explore movement through fun and imaginative tasks. Students will develop confidence, creativity and teamwork while learning how to generate ideas and create their own original choreography.

Do I need to bring anything with me? 

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in e.g. leggings/shorts and a t-shirt and trainers. Bring a bottle of water, this can be refilled at the Hub. 

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All abilities are welcome, the class will cater for individual needs of participants. 

About the Artist/Facilitator 

Rebecca Cram has been dancing and performing from a young age in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, contemporary and street dance. She has completed an undergraduate degree and a masters in dance at the University of Lincoln as well as gaining teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association and has been teaching across Lincolnshire for over 13 years. 

Abbi Thompson, with over 15 years of teaching dance and fitness and a lifelong passion for dance since age three, is a dedicated community Dance Artist.​ She holds a range of dance and fitness qualifications, complemented by a degree in psychology and a decade of experience in care. Abbi has worked as a performer, choreographer, director and producer in a variety of community settings, and is an advocate for lifelong learning. 

Access Information- Studio

When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.

The studio is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below.

The studio is temperature controlled and well lit.

You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.

You are welcome to take drinks into the studio.
