Here & Now

1 Oct 2016 – 15 Jan 2017

Main Gallery

Here and Now challenges the notion that tapestry is a dying craft by showing the current breadth of international talent, marking a point in time for contemporary tapestry.

The exhibition highlights the best of contemporary tapestry artists and introduces the work of international artists to a British audience. The exhibition will feature established and emerging tapestry artists from Japan, UK, Norway, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Latvia and the USA, demonstrating the breadth of international commitment to contemporary tapestry.

Here and Now has been jointly curated by Bryony Windsor, Head of Exhibitions at NCCD and Lesley Millar, Professor of Textile Culture and Director of the International Textile Research Centre at the University for the Creative Arts, UK.
