ARTiculation: Register for a FREE Discovery Day for your Students

Thu 30 Jul 2026

Hub Sleaford are excited to welcome back ARTiculation! If you’re a local school and want to get involved, you can now register for an ARTiculation Discovery Day and help your students dive into the world of art, ideas and confident communication.

What is ARTiculation?

Run by the National Gallery, ARTiculation is a national programme that uses art as a springboard for developing vital oracy, independent research, and presentation skills in young people.

Each year, the ARTiculation Prize invites 16–19 year‑olds to deliver a 10‑minute presentation on a chosen artwork, architectural piece or artefact — live, in a museum or gallery setting.

What is a Discovery Day?

Discovery Days are FREE workshops for KS4/5 students from state‑sector schools. They’re designed to build confidence, curiosity and critical thinking — and act as a stepping stone towards entering the Prize.

During the one‑day workshop, students will:

  • Explore artworks through observation, discussion and primary research
  • Build independent thinking, analysis and questioning skills
  • Learn practical techniques for public speaking and managing nerves
  • Meet and interview art‑world professionals
  • Discover what the ARTiculation Prize involves — and how to take part

By the end of the day, each student will share their research and personal responses in short group presentations. No prior experience needed — everything is taught on the day.

Why take part?

ARTiculation supports Arts Award (Silver & Gold), the EPQ, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and strengthens UCAS personal statements.
