On Saturday, 12 April, we celebrated the opening of the brand new Lincolnshire Craft Open in our Ground Floor Gallery. We were pleased to welcome the eight selected artists and their guests for a coffee morning—an opportunity to view their exhibited works and connect with fellow makers.
During the event, we were delighted to announce the recipient of the Curator’s Choice Award: Thomas Bennett, a furniture maker based in Kirton. The selection panel commended Thomas’s work for its exceptional craftsmanship, unique design, and thoughtful engagement with materiality.
As part of the award, Thomas will work closely with curator Joshua Lockwood-Moran to develop and present a solo exhibition at the Hub in 2026.
The Lincolnshire Craft Open 2025 continues in the Ground Floor Gallery until Sunday 22 June, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of contemporary craft artists living and working in Greater Lincolnshire.
Featured artists include Dehlia Barnard-Edmunds, Fiona Gurney, Jane Hindmarch, Nicki Jarvis, Thomas Bennett, Jessica Morris, Stephen Shiro, and Rob Vashak.
With thanks to our selection panellists, artists Fiona Carruthers and Danica Maier.
“I‘d like to thank the Hub for recognising my work.
Lincolnshire - although often overlooked, has a unique heritage, landscape and people, the more that can be done to showcase that the better. I’d like to thank the Hub for providing a unique space that brings the community together and celebrates the arts and crafts for all of us.”
