Lindey Tydeman
Lindey graduated from Central Saint Martins with a MA in jewellery design before creating her eponymous brand of contemporary fine-craft jewellery, including one-of-a-kind objects alongside a small ready-to-wear collection. Inspired by her previous textiles career, Lindey amalgamates textile techniques and electroforming with materials including copper, to disrupt assumptions around the perceived use and value of materials and processes to showcase unique craftsmanship and design.

Ksenia Semirova
Hove-based embroidery artist Ksenia Semirova sees her craft as a form of magic; creating enchanting and unique pieces by manipulating seemingly ordinary materials such as threads, beads, tiny plastic or metal pieces. Ksenia’s research and creative process balances delicately between personal, past and present, with a particular interest in exploring heritage, aiming to preserve traditions while also seeking alternative contemporary interpretations of historical ideas.

“Why hummingbirds? Hummingbirds are really tiny but float a lot in terms of colour palette, in terms of shape, in terms of movement. Hummingbirds are an endangered species”
Suzy Ager
With hand drawn imagery as an embedded foundation of her practice, Suzy translates this into textile artworks by piecing together fabric and thread to capture stories of British wildlife. Bringing to life the character and movement of each subject is achieved through the selection of carefully considered natural and repurposed materials, and calming colour choices, alongside expressive marks and textures. Suzy’s thoughtfully constructed artworks aim to encourage an appreciation and a reconnection with our local natural environment and the creatures that inhabit it.

“it was around six years ago, so a three year degree specialising in embroidery covering lots of different areas of textiles including print, knit and weave. After that I felt I had unfinished business and went on to do a masters in Textile Design & Innovation”
Caroline L A Wheeler CLAW
Caroline is an interdisciplinary artist, jeweller, and material researcher. With MA degrees in Jewellery & Metal and Art & Material Histories, Caroline responds to matters of human and environmental concern through a triage of object, image and text. The series ‘At Our Feet’ repurposes components of an original surveyor’s Gunter’s Chain. Designed in 1620, the 100 chained links equal 66 ft in length and were used to measure land across the British Empire and early American settlements.

“before tape measures, before lasers, surveyors actively used this chain to demarcate land measurement. Furlongs, acres are all metric measurements based on this chain”
