The Hub Achieves Arts Council England Funding Success

Wed 9 Nov 2022

The Hub team is delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding by Arts Council England to retain our status as a National Portfolio Organisation from 2023-26.

This represents a major investment in Sleaford and North Kesteven and is fantastic news for everyone here at the Hub and all those who visit who participates in our programme.

Following the announcement, Clare Edwards, Director of the Hub expressed her delight at the successful application, she said:

We are super excited for the future and where this will take us. As a local and national centre of creative & cultural excellence, over the next three years we will continue to bring inspiring craft, design, dance, and creative experiences to Sleaford, North Kesteven and beyond.”

The funding, totalling more than £600,000, was secured through North Kesteven District Council, who own the Hub and secures the delivery of art provision across the district over the next three years.

North Kesteven District Council leader Cllr Richard Wright highlighted what this funding means for the Hub and the community of North Kesteven, he said:

“This is excellent news not only for the programme of exhibitions, dance, community outreach and core functions at the Hub that we promote for North Kesteven, but also in the development of a vibrant cultural programme across Lincolnshire.

“Having recently invested £1.2m in the transformation and expansion of creative spaces within the Hub and seen it flourish and grow as a literal hub for the community and cultural activity within Sleaford, it is particularly encouraging that Arts Council England is continuing to recognise Hub-Sleaford as an established and renowned cultural organisation integral to its national portfolio.”

The investment in the Hub is a share of more than £6m heading into Lincolnshire as Arts Council England backs art, culture, and creativity, across the country through to 2026; ensuring that more people in more places can find fantastic, fulfilling art and culture on their doorsteps.

Peter Knott, Area Director for Arts Council England said:

“We want creative communities in every corner of the country to have the opportunity to thrive, which is why we’re delighted to be supporting the Hub-Sleaford over the next three years. The partnership will give local people the opportunity to take part in a range of cultural activities from visual to performing arts and it’ll be great to see them engage with audiences in the heart of Lincolnshire.”
