RiverLight Festival 2022

In March 2022, Sleaford was brought to life through a celebration of culture and creativity. RiverLight was a spectacular festival which welcomed people back to the high street after the pandemic and showcased Sleaford’s wonderful local community.

Rooted in the historic stories and environments of the River Slea, an artistic programme saw over 10,800 public engagements across 8 days bringing together over 120 local artists, businesses, retailers, schools, community groups, venues and volunteers.

Imaginative artworks, performances, street theatre, music, competitions, trails, dance, food stalls, and light projections brought much needed joy and happiness to thousands of people and was a huge catalyst in helping the town centre to re-build stronger after the pandemic.

RiverLight 2022 brought a much-needed increase in social and economic benefit to the town and district. A vibrant atmosphere increased footfall and trade to the high street and gave so many people a special opportunity to express themselves through creativity.

We had an awesome time at the RiverLight festival. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to host our first open day for the community. Although it was short notice your team pulled off a very successful event. We would love to be a part of it every year. It was very encouraging to get all positive comments from the public and we are all happy that we had so many people visit us. Thank you once again!
