Children’s Dance

What will I learn? 

Children are invited to use their imagination to explore and learn through creative dance. This session is aimed at children in Key Stage 1 and encourages creativity and play within movement. Children will have the opportunity to learn new skills, work in a team and individually through dance. The workshop will involve creative tasks and games, that will lead to them creating their own dance choreography.

The class will include:

  • Introductions and warm ups
  • Creative tasks, games and taught sequences
  • As a group, making a short dance of the work created
  • Cool down and reflections

Do I need to bring anything with me? 

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in e.g. leggings/shorts and a t-shirt and trainers. Bring a bottle of water, this can be refilled at the Hub. 

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All abilities are welcome, the class will cater for individual needs of participants. 

About the Artist/Facilitator 

Rebecca Cram has been dancing and performing from a young age in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, contemporary and street dance. She has completed an undergraduate degree and a masters in dance at the University of Lincoln as well as gaining teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association and has been teaching across Lincolnshire for over 13 years. 

Emily Luce trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has been working in dance and performance for over 15 years. She has worked as a performer, teacher, creative practitioner and producer, and has been part of the Hub Dance Team since 2016.

Access Information- Studio

When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.

The studio is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below.

The studio is temperature controlled and well lit.

You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.

You are welcome to take drinks into the studio.
