25 Oct: The Age of Stupid (60 mins) Click For Trailer

It’s the year 2055 and the world has been ravaged by climate change. London is underwater, Sydney is on fire and nuclear war has turned India into a wasteland. An archivist looks back at old footage from the year 2008 to understand why humankind failed to address climate change. From the director of McLibel and starring Pete Postlethwaite, this bold, provocative film  warns of the dire consequences of our failure to stop climate change.

A 2015 documentary film directed by Brad Allgood and Graham Townsley. It follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a children’s orchestra in Paraguay that uses recycled materials from a landfill to create instruments and perform music. The film highlights the transformative power of music and addresses issues of poverty and waste pollution. It showcases the lives of the children, their music teacher, and their journey from a slum to becoming a global sensation, even performing with the heavy metal band Megadeth.

A feature-length documentary that explores the critical state of Scotland’s salmon and the intricate relationship between these fish and the forest ecosystem. The film, produced by Scotland: The Big Picture and narrated by Peter Capaldi, highlights the importance of Atlantic salmon as a vital part of Scotland’s natural environment. It also sheds light on the challenges faced by these fish due to the degradation of river catchments and the loss of natural woodlands. The documentary aims to raise awareness about the need for restoration efforts to secure a future for Scotland’s wild salmon and the broader ecosystem they support.

In 60 action-packed minutes, the world’s first live investigative documentary will attempt to find out who is polluting our rivers and why we’re not stopping them. Presented by environmental journalist George Monbiot and directed by Age of Stupid’s Franny Armstrong, with live music from Charlotte Church.

The Hub is proud to be working in partnership with Sleaford Climate Action Network (Sleaford CAN) to present this Film Series. Sleaford CAN is a network of people and groups working together to keep the planet safe and habitable for all the children of the future. Their aim is to help people be the change that is needed.

Access Information - Studio

When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.

The workshop is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below. Chairs will be set out for the films, which will be shown on the big TV screen on the wall.

The workshop is temperature controlled and well lit.

You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.

You are welcome to take drinks or snacks into the studio if required.
