What will I learn? 

Relaxed, inclusive, and fun creative dance sessions for young people aged 8–15 with learning disabilities, autism and/or physical disabilities. These classes focus on developing confidence through dance and movement in a safe and welcoming environment. Carers are welcome to join in when necessary or watch from the seating area within the theatre auditorium. If you are new please contact dance@hub-sleaford.org.uk to arrange a trial lesson.

Please note, this class runs during term time only and takes place in the Terry O’Toole Theatre, One NK Centre, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9AX.
 

The class will include:

Introduction and welcome

Group warm up

Creative travelling across the space in smaller groups

Taught choreography and creative tasks.

Time for free movement 

Cool Down and reflection

Do I need to bring anything with me? (include clothing)

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in e.g. leggings/shorts and a T-shirt and trainers. Bring a bottle of water, this can be refilled at One NK. 

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All abilities are welcome, the class will cater for individual needs of participants. 

About the Artist/Facilitator 

Rebecca Cram has been dancing and performing from a young age in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, contemporary and street dance. She has completed an undergraduate degree and a masters in dance at the University of Lincoln as well as gaining teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association and has been teaching across Lincolnshire for over 13 years. 

Emily Luce trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has been working in dance and performance for over 15 years. She has worked as a performer, teacher, creative practitioner and producer, and has been part of the Hub Dance Team since 2016.

Access Information - Terry O’Toole Theatre, access via One NK leisure centre

There is a large free car park at One NK

When you enter One NK, turn left and enter the theatre auditorium.

The theatre is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below. A staff member can direct you to the theatre.

There are toilet facilities on the ground and first floors. You will have access to a disabled toilet.

You are welcome to take drinks into the theatre.

Classes take place on Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm (ages 8-15) at Terry O’Toole Theatre, OneNK, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9AX and run-in term time only.
