True Motion celebrates the wealth of youth dance and creativity from across Greater Lincolnshire, providing talented young dancers with a unique opportunity to showcase their work on a professional stage.

True Motion is produced and run by the Hub dance team in association with Lincoln Arts Centre, University of Lincoln & Fabric. Our 2026 platform introduces exciting new additions, including a dedicated Careers area offering insights into creative career paths and an improvisation area for spontaneous expression. Additionally, an independent panel will present three awards: Outstanding Piece, Choreographic Concept, and Social Impact.

Beyond performances, True Motion offers workshops and networking opportunities with dancers, dance companies and further education throughout Lincolnshire. The initiative proudly aligns with U.Dance, a national framework led by One Dance UK that creates performance opportunities for young people across the country, connecting local talent to the broader national dance community.

Who Can Apply?

Application is open to any youth dance company, school dance group, community dance group or individual that meets the criteria, as stated below:

• We welcome applications from groups working in different dance styles; with young people in different settings including schools, youth centres, community groups and youth dance companies.
• Application is open to any dance form.
• We strongly encourage applications from groups that include disabled dancers with physical or special educational needs (SEN).
