What will I learn?
A hands-on introduction to core metalworking skills. In this guided taster class, you’ll explore texture and form using copper sheet. With decorative stamps, hammers, doming blocks and punches, you’ll create wearable pieces while learning foundational techniques with jeweller and silversmith Michele Steadman of Hilomilo Jewellery. Ideal for beginners.
What will I take away with me?
Your own textured, hand‑stamped copper cuff and a pair of textured domed copper pendants.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
No just bring yourself.

About the Artist/Facilitator
Michele Steadman is a jeweller and silversmith with over thirty years of experience, known for creating elegant, contemporary pieces with clean, fluid lines. She began making jewellery as a child and went on to study 3D Design: Metalwork and Jewellery (BA Hons), developing a passion for the versatility of precious metals.
Michele is a member of the National Association of Jewellers, and her work carries her maker’s mark and, where applicable, a London Assay Office hallmark. Through Hilomilo Jewellery, she continues to design and handcraft pieces that celebrate the transformative beauty of metal.
Access Information - Workshop
When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.
The workshop is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below.
The workshop is temperature controlled and well lit.
You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.
You are welcome to take drinks or snacks into the workshop if required.
