The Craft&Making Saturday Club at the Hub in Sleaford, Lincolnshire is a free programme of workshops for young people who have a passion for creativity. We are looking to support the next generation of craft makers and designers providing a small, safe and friendly environment for young people aged 13 – 16 years old to explore their creativity.

Workshops are run by professional tutors from our experienced team and associate/exhibiting artists. Club members will have the opportunity to experience contemporary exhibitions in the field of craft and design, and meet exhibiting makers, providing an insight into career opportunities within the craft sector. At the end of the programme, Club members will be given opportunity to showcase their work as part of the Hub exhibition programme.

In addition to weekly sessions, Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No just bring yourself.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All are welcome. 

About the Artist/Facilitator 

Sarah Elliott

With over 15 years of dedicated experience teaching fashion, art, and design, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to every project she undertakes. Since joining the Hub in 2019, Sarah has been a key facilitator across the visual arts programme, working with learners of all ages - from young children just beginning their artistic journey to adults honing their creative skills.

Sarah’s approach blends technical expertise with an encouraging and inclusive teaching style, encouraging artistic growth and confidence in a supportive environment. Her background in fashion and design enriches her teaching, offering unique perspectives on form, texture, and creative expression that inspire her students to explore new ideas and techniques.

Whether leading workshops, one-on-one sessions, or community projects, Sarah is committed to nurturing creativity and helping individuals realise their artistic potential.

Access Information - Workshop

When you enter the Hub, head to the shop reception and a Visitor Experience Assistant will be able to show you to the room.

The workshop is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below.

The workshop is temperature controlled and well lit.

You are close to all toilet facilities, also on the ground floor. You will have access to two disabled toilets.

You are welcome to take drinks or snacks into the workshop if required.
