Needle Felted Creature Faces with Sofía Barbé

Sat 2 May, 10am–12pm

Next: 2 May, 1–3pm

Hub £30 18yrs+

What will I learn?

You will learn the fundamentals of 2D needle felting, a textile technique that uses a specially designed barbed needle to interlock wool fibres and create detailed images and textures.

During this hands-on session with Sofia Barbe, you will:

  • Be introduced to the tools and materials used in needle felting

  • Learn how to safely handle felting needles

  • Explore how to build colour, texture and shape using carded wool

  • Work with a template to guide your design

  • Learn how to finish your piece through gentle ironing and framing

What will I take away with me?

You will leave with your own 15 x 15 cm framed 2D needle felted artwork, presented in a wooden embroidery hoop — ready to display at home or give as a gift.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

  • Felting needles
  • Felting pads
  • Wool felt mats with templates
  • Finger protectors
  • Wooden embroidery hoops
  • Carded wool (prepared on individual trays)
