An event to promote Active Travel in order to enhance community life in Sleaford by reducing vehicle traffic and improving our health and the environment. Information displays, accessible cycles, e-bikes, balance bikes and participatory activities.

Stories from the Book Barge

Join us for a special Storytime with stories and songs themed around boats, rivers and our hometown of Sleaford. Suitable for families and children aged 0-10. After the stories there will be a chance to get creative with a small river-themed craft.

Lincolnshire Sings Singing Workshop *

A wonderful day of mass harmony singing workshops, all taught by ear and led by inspiring community singing leader, Chelsey Bamford. Open to anyone who enjoys singing in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment. In partnership with SoundLINCS. This music workshop will be a mixture of vocal and breathing technique, performance confidence, all ending with learning harmonies and parts to a vocal piece.

Bootstick Making Music Activity with Band from County Hell

A free bootstick making workshop run by BFCH (Band From County Hell) for adults and children. Equipment supplied and pre-prepared for construction during the workshop. Bring an old boot to attach to the bottom of your bootstick. Performance will be practiced at the end of the workshop and you are encouraged to return to be part of the Bootstick Band for some busking on Sat 22 June - RiverLight Finale Day.

Slea Paddlers

Have a go on stand-up paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and even brave the coracle with the Slea Paddlers.
This activity is dependant on to river conditions, look out for up-to-date info on our social media.

Boys Brigade Open Evening

Riverside is home to the 1st Sleaford Boys’ Brigade Company, a uniformed Christian youth organisation, with members aged from 4 to 18. Come along for a taster session! 6.15pm (7-10 yrs)

The 1st Sleaford Girl’s Brigade Company is an active part of the life of Riverside. In addition to the weekly Brigade meetings, they form part of our joint Brigades Band.

Sleaford Museum Open Day

Experience local history this specially designed building that used to be a public loo! Now home to artefacts and stories that portray fascinating aspects of the area’s unique past. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed and much appreciated to help cover essential costs and fund new exhibitions. A range of local history books, booklets, postcards, pens, key-rings etc can be purchased.
