Unify Youth - SEND Dance Class

Every Tue, 5.30 – 6.30pm, term time only

£33 per term 10–24yrs, at OneNK, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9AX

What will I learn? 

A relaxed, inclusive, and fun creative dance session for young people with learning disabilities, autism and/or physical disabilities aged between 10-24yrs. These classes focus on developing confidence through dance and movement in a safe and welcoming environment. Carers are welcome to join in where necessary or watch from seating within the studio. If you are new please contact dance@hub-sleaford.org.uk to arrange a trial lesson. 

Please note, this class runs in term-time only and takes place at the One NK Centre, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9AX.

The class will include:

Introduction and welcome

Group warm up

Creative travelling across the space in smaller groups

Taught choreography and creative tasks.

Time for free movement 

Cool Down and reflection

Do I need to bring anything with me? (include clothing)

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in e.g. leggings/shorts and a tshirt and trainers. Bring a bottle of water, this can be refilled at the One NK. 

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All abilities are welcome, the class will cater for individual needs of participants. 

About the Artist/Facilitator 

Rebecca Cram has been dancing and performing from a young age in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, contemporary and street dance. She has completed an undergraduate degree and a masters in dance at the University of Lincoln as well as gaining teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association and has been teaching across Lincolnshire for over 13 years. 

Emily Luce trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has been working in dance and performance for over 15 years. She has worked as a performer, teacher, creative practitioner and producer, and has been part of the Hub Dance Team since 2016.

Access Information - One NK Ground Floor Studio

There is a large free car park at One NK

When you enter One NK, head to the reception and a staff member will let you through the barriers. 

The studio is on the ground floor, you can see a picture of the room below. A staff member will show you to the studio.

The studio is temperature controlled and well lit.

There are toilet facilities on the ground and first floors. You will have access to a disabled toilet.

You are welcome to take drinks into the studio.
